K-pop boy group Seventeen is dominating multiple album charts with its fourth full-length album, “Face the Sun.”

According to album tracker Hanteo, “Face the Sun” topped Hanteo’s weekly album chart from May 23 to 29, selling more than 1.82 million copies. Of them, 1.75 million were sold on the first day of its release, May 27.

Gaon, another album tracker, also announced Monday that the album reigned atop its “Retail Album Chart” last week, edging out prominent stars like GOT7 and Kang Daniel. It dominated iTune’s top albums charts in 22 countries including the Philippines and Brazil.

“Face the Sun” is Seventeen’s

sixth million-seller album. The 13-piece act’s first million-seller release is “An Ode,” which came out in 2019.

Through “Face the Sun,” Seventeen ambitiously says that it will not succumb to any challenge that lies ahead so that it can become a “sunlike group” with unique and enormous influence. Leading the album is “Hot,” a hip-hop song with a guitar sound that best delivers the members’ determination.

“We have set our sights on the Billboard’s main albums chart since the release of ‘Your Choice’ in 2021,” member Seungkwan said during a press conference at the Conrad Seoul in Yeouido, May 27. “Your Choice” grabbed the No. 13 spot on the chart upon its release.

“This time, we really want to rank first,” he added.

Seventeen, a team famed for the members’ songwriting skills, made its debut in 2015 with the track, “Adore U,” and has dropped a string of hits such as “Don’t Wanna Cry” (2017).
