National Museum of Korea Permanent Exhibition
The National Museum of Korea presents an exhibition room showcasing two pensive bodhisattva statues from the late sixth and early seventh centuries. Both of the statues are designated as National Treasures. Bodhisattva statues seated in the pensive pose are commonly found in East Asia, originating between the fifth and eighth centuries. The aesthetics of the room provides the viewer a chance for some quiet contemplation.

It’s time for BTS fans to head to HYBE Insight, a museum located in the headquarters of the group’s agency, HYBE, in Seoul’s Yongsan District. At the ongoing exhibition, fans can appreciate a variety of photographs, video content and music all themed around the K-pop giant. It’s an immersive journey into the nine-year history of the boy band that features the group’s first anthology album, “Proof” (2022). The show will also unfold in Tokyo until Dec. 18.

Gwangju Museum of Art Until Nov. 27
A special exhibition highlighting the art collection of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee has arrived in Gwangju. The donation of his massive art collection to state-run museums made headlines last year and is in the process of being gradually unveiled through each exhibition. Some of the celebrated paintings by Lee Jung-seop, Kim Whanki and Park Soo-keun, among others, shown at “The Person’s Spirit Lingers as Art,” come from the collection of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), Daegu Art Museum and Jeonnam Museum of Art.
