Jaguar Land Rover Korea launched the all-new Range Rover SUV with an aim to bolster its presence in the flagship luxury SUV segment, the company said Tuesday.

The Range Rover is a model that defines how luxury SUVs should be. Since its debut in 1970, it has reigned as the boss of luxury SUVs. The company said its unrivaled luxurious sensibility and unique driving technology, which can conquer every road type, are the key factors that make the Range Rover special.

“The fifth-generation Range Rover presents a new standard for luxury SUVs by combining modern luxury design, innovative technology and the latest convenience specifications,” Jaguar Land Rover Korea said.

The Range Rover has a total of five trims. The standard wheelbase body design is available as a five-seater while the long wheelbase body is available as a choice between a

five-seater and a seven-seater.

The company also launched a mild hybrid engine-powered Range Rover and will later introduce a plug-in hybrid model in 2023. According to Land Rover’s Reimagine strategy, which designs new benchmarks in quality and efficiency for the luxury sector, a fully electric version of the Range Rover will be released in 2024.

As its predecessor boasted, the fifth-generation Range Rover also provides stellar driving dynamics both on and off the road, the company said.

Equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine capable of producing up to 530 horsepower, the P530 model shows excellent driving capabilities — on-road and off-road. With a maximum torque of 76.5 kilogram-meters, it only takes 4.6 seconds to hit 100 kilometers per hour. The D350 engine has a maximum horsepower of 350 with a maximum torque of 71.4 kilogram-meters and takes 6.1 seconds to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour.

The all-new Range Rover shows a distinguished exterior design. The reductive nature of the design is free from superfluous details, resulting in a form which has breathtaking modernity, according to the company. Its interior also uses best-in-class materials with the latest technologies.

The Range Rover starts from 203.97 million won ($153,726) to 230.47 million won, depending on the type of engine and body size. Every model includes a five-yearlong service plan package, the company added.
