Muwa Niseko offers exclusive experience for skiers in Japan
Muwa Niseko, a luxury ski resort operated by Hanwha Solutions in Hokkaido, Japan, is rising as a distinguished venue for winter vacationers from around the world, the company said Tuesday.
With its location next to Mount Yotei that best stands out in winter, as well as choice restaurants and unique architecture reminiscent of an authentic mountain village, the resort under the Hanwha Group subsidiary’s resort brand Muwa is drawing the attention of winter lovers and travelers for other seasons as well.
The region is famous for its snow. Snowfall in the town of Niseko averages about 39 to 52 feet and allows nearby ski trails to operate for 120 days each year. And the snow quality is internationally renowned, helping coin the term “Japanese powder,” or JAPOW.
Launched in December, the resort’s location flaunts natural surroundings that define what a winter trip to Japan is all about. Situated in the Grand Hirafu area, best known for its snow-covered scenery, the resort offers a direct ski-in, ski-out terrace to some of its suites, which allow lodgers to step into Niseko’s wild conveniently.
Natural springs around the venue also provide spots for an onsen bathing experience. Integrated with a tea ceremony, it offers an exclusive dimension to well-being rarely found elsewhere.
Inside the resort, a prestigious Michelin dining experience is another thing Muwa Niseko cares to share with visitors. Italian all-day dining at HITO by Tacubo is curated by the owner-chef of Tokyo’s acclaimed Michelin one-star restaurant Tacubo. Sukiyaki Hiyama is another Michelin one-star restaurant.
The resort welcomes tourists to drop by at any season, as it refuses to be pigeonholed as just a spot for winter trips. The concierge service provides customized travel packages in accordance with the venue’s changing seasons and presents opportunities for activities, culinary delights and family-oriented adventures.
“Beyond the winter allure, there are compelling reasons to explore Muwa Niseko even during the summer months,” a company official said.
