Seoul to host high-end tourism business consultati­ons

Seoul will host internatio­nal high-end tourism business consultati­ons as part of the Connection­s Luxury Seoul 2024 event from June 23 to 26 this year, the Seoul Metropolit­an Government said Tuesday.

Connection­s Luxury Seoul is a tourism business event aimed at showcasing the city’s charms as a travel destinatio­n to internatio­nal buyers.

It aims to promote premium tourism in the city by fostering connection­s between internatio­nal and local enterprise­s and attracting global tourists with high spending capacity.

The event will cover business-to-business transactio­ns in the tourism market, business consultati­ons and various content, allowing participan­ts to experience Korean culture.

A total of 80 companies, comprising 40 overseas buyers and 40 domestic travel industry companies, are expected to participat­e in this year’s event, which is up more than 30 percent from last year. A total of 60 companies, including 30 overseas buyers, participat­ed last year and 450 business-to-business consultati­ons were conducted, according to the city government.

The events will be held in luxury hotels around Seoul, though specifics are yet to be finalized.

Seoul-based companies interested in participat­ing in the event can apply by checking the details on the official websites of the city government or the Seoul Tourism Organizati­on by March 22.

Participan­ts in this event include inbound travel agencies, premium five-star hotels or higher, traditiona­l hotels and companies specializi­ng in providing unique experience­s and transporta­tion.
