Hana Bank offers cultural space for middle-aged citizens
Hana Bank opened Hana 50+ Culture Bank, a space dedicated to enriching cultural and educational experiences for middle-aged citizens in Daejeon, the bank said Sunday.
Opened March 15, the Daejeon branch in Daeheung-dong enables Hana customers and residents of the city to engage in a variety of financial services and educational courses. They can see old movies and listen to music with a certain sentimental value in special areas designed to cater to the needs of the age group.
The branch houses a Healing Lounge space open to Hana customers and Daejeon residents. Customized culture spaces provide vinyl records, cassette tapes and players as well as a movie room.
Also housed is a support center for the city’s middle-aged citizens. They can seek career lessons and partake in career development courses and training. Leisure activities and health education programs are also available.
Hana plans to provide education and counseling services encompassing digital education, asset management and post-retirement plans.
The bank aims to elevate the branch as a shared space for middle-aged and older adults to communicate and celebrate life after retirement.
“Hana’s Daejeon branch with 50 years of history has undergone a renovation to better serve the hard-working age group,” Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo said.
“We will further develop the space into a popular cultural spot representing the city of Daejeon for visitors from across the country to enjoy their stay,” he added.
Hana Financial Group, the holding firm of Hana Bank, continues its job creation efforts, as illustrated by training programs launched in August 2022 to help people in their 40s and 50s seek reemployment. In January, it opened a digital job center for the age group jointly with Seoul’s Gangnam District, to support them in the search for their second life.
