The Penthouse Cheongdam in southern Seoul has ranked as the most expensive apartment complex in Korea for four consecutive years, according to the latest housing price chart released Tuesday by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Priced at 16.4 billion won ($12.2 million) — a publicly disclosed price, which tends to be much lower than real market price — and with a floor area of 407.71 square meters, The Penthouse Cheongdam has maintained the top position as the most pricey apartment in the country for four years straight, since opening in 2020.

The apartment complex has 29 units, where many celebrities, including the actor couple Ko So-young and Jang Dong-gun, as well as 21-time LPGA Tour winning golfer Park In-bee, are said to be currently residing.

The publicly disclosed price of the luxury apartment complex has risen by 160 million won compared to last year.

The second-highest-priced apartment in the country, in terms of its publicly disclosed price, is Eterno Cheongdam in the same area. The disclosed price for a floor area of 464.11 square meters is 12.8 billion won. This apartment gained market attention when singer and actress IU purchased one of the units.

Nineone Hannam, which took second place last year, fell to the third ranking with its publicly disclosed price of 10.6 billion won for a floor area of 244.72 square meters. This is where RM and Jimin of BTS, as well as singer Jang Yoon-jeong, are known to have owned units.

Busan’s Haeundae LCT, which made last year’s top 10 most expensive apartment list as the only one located outside of Seoul, fell out of the top 10 list this year. All apartments that made it into the list are located in Seoul, with three each in Gangnam District and Yongsan District, two in Seocho District and two more in Seongdong District.
