Samsung ’s new washer-dryer at full production capacity
Samsung Electronics recently launched its Bespoke AI Combo, an all-in-one washer-dryer product, which has been enjoying soaring popularity. Thanks to a surge in demand, the company is now operating its domestic production line at full capacity, the home appliance maker said Tuesday.
“The Bespoke AI Combo has sold 1,000 units within just three days of its launch and over 3,000 in 12 days,” the company said. “Samsung Electronics plans to operate its domestic Bespoke AI Combo production lines at full capacity to actively respond to customer demand and ensure smooth delivery.”
The Bespoke AI Combo allows users to wash and dry their laundry in one machine, reducing the burden of moving their laundry from a washer to a dryer, which helps save about 40 percent of space compared to installing separate washers and dryers.
Samsung said that Bespoke AI Combo users have expressed satisfaction with the product, saying they like the convenience of doing everything in one machine. They also stated that the product is very useful regarding more efficient use of space in homes and that the product has a large screen, making it easy to use like a smartphone.
As a consequence of its soaring popularity, Samsung said that despite it being an all-in-one product, the Bespoke AI Combo provides drying performance equivalent to standalone dryers with its high-efficiency inverter heat pump. The product can dry clothes gently without damage through its low-temperature dehumidification technology, the company added.
The product can quickly wash and dry up to 3 kilograms of laundry, equivalent to about 17 shirts, in 99 minutes. It also features a washing capacity of 25 kilograms and a drying capacity of 15 kilograms, making it able to wash king-sized blankets.
Lee Moo-hyung, executive vice president and head of the digital appliances customer experience team at Samsung, said the company focused on developing the product so that it has the same performance as a standalone dryer.
“We rethought every conventional design approach so as to overcome the structural limitations that an all-in-one washer-dryer is bound to have compared to a standalone dryer,” the executive vice president said at an event introducing the product last week.
In addition to the all-in-one washer-dryer, Samsung is actively introducing home appliances with enhanced AI features and promoting AI functionality as a new selling point of their gadgets. For instance, the Bespoke Jet Bot AI robot vacuum cleaner recognizes objects and floor contamination better with AI functionality, and the AI-enhanced Neo QLED TV naturally boosts quality of low-resolution videos, supporting various AI features that help viewers focus more on watching the TV.
