KTV2 to broadcast polls live: Channel 2 will be live from 8 am on Saturday 1st Dec 2012 for exclusive all day coverage of the Election. The coverage commences with Adeeb Shuhaiber at 8 am. It will also include live coverage to ballot stations. KTV2 is on OSN channel 561. The message was delivered in a statement by the Amiri Diwan on Thursday. (KUNA) ‘Kuwait offered $50 mln’: Kuwait paid USD 50 million to support the budget of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Kuwaiti Envoy to the Arab League Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said on Thursday.
Al-Ghunaim told KUNA that this support comes to alleviate suffering of the Palestinian people, and in support to the PA in facing the financial and economic pressure practiced by Israel.
Kuwait doubled its contribution to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to allow the agency to continue practicing its role in offering its services to the children of Palestinian refugees, he stated.
He informed the Arab League and the Office of Syria Special Envoy of UN-Arab League Lakhdar Brahimi of the Kuwaiti donation for the Syrian people, which amounted to USD 20 million.
This donation comes in accordance with the instructions of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah in support of the Syrian people during these tough circumstances, he said. Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Thursday a cable of congratulations to the President of the Central African Republic Francois Bozize on the occasion of the country’s National Day. HH the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has sent a congratulatory cable to Governor General of Barbados Elliott Belgrave, on the occasion of his country’s National Day. (KUNA)
