MoH launches hotline: Seeking to better communicate with people frequenting its medical centers and hospitals, the Kuwait Ministry of Health launched Friday a hotline.
“The Ministry seeks to reach out to people through the new service to listen to their evaluation of the services provided by its institutions and provide them with all required information about Kuwait medical centers,” Health Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Al-Sahlawi said in a press statement Friday.
The Hotline, 151, will help people communicate with the Ministry to get information about health centers’ services and addresses, he said.
He added that the hotline also enables citizenry and residents to convey their complainants and suggestions to the Ministry officials. (KUNA) Bid to demolish illegal structures: Officials from Public Services Unit recently coordinated with emergency team at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality to demolish illegal structures, including trees at a play ground in Block 5 of Sabah Al-Salem area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Deputy Director of Public Relations Abdul-Mohsen Abalkhayl said the operation was conducted upon the complaint a resident of the area had lodged in that regard, and workers used four machines for the demolition which took place in the presence of Municipality officials.
He urged the citizens and expatriates to cooperate with Municipality officials whenever they have complaints as regards public hygiene, food, hawking and illegal billboards, and contact the concerned authority on hotline 139.
He assured officials will deal with their complaints in the shortest possible time, as the sector is determined to provide better services to the public — in line with directives from higher authority. ‘Garbage to collected in 48 hrs’: Heaps of garbage are lying scattered on the streets of residential areas because the Kuwait Municipality delayed in assigning collection and disposal of wastes in the concerned locations, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng. Ahmad Al-Subeh indicated that he is empathetic about the frustration of the affected residents over the situation, as they are concerned about possible spread of diseases and epidemic.
He exonerated the Municipality from the blame, indicating that the new cleaning companies are responsible for the situation.
He assured that the issue will be rectified soon and the wastes from the affected areas will be cleared out within 48 hours.
He explained that the delay was because the drivers and cleaners of the new companies were unaware about the locations since they are still new in the assignment. Deal to buy transformers: A contract was signed by Minister of Electricity and Water, the State Minister for Municipal Affairs Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim to purchase comprehensive units for 11/0.433 KV capacity hybrid power transformers at a cost of 5.465 million dinars, reports AlSeyassah daily.
The daily quoted a source as saying the project will help in the distribution of electricity to various categories of consumers, including private accommodation, commercial buildings and government property. He explained the network will replace old units to consolidate the power distribution network, and the project will be completed in 14 months.
