“Christmas is the season for sharing and spreading the message of hope and love. But this should not be the case only during Christmas. We should live with hope every day,” pointed out CIK President Oliver Diong during his inspirational speech before the distressed workers who are mostly victims of physical, verbal or sexual abuse, non-payment of salaries, fatigue and lack of food prompting them to escape from their abusive employers and seek refuge at the FWRC.

The programme on Friday kicked off with the opening prayer by CIK member Ma Elora Olga Tumulto.

The CIK Legends and CIK Hunks presented a dance number to the delight of the audience. Infusing more entertainment, CIK members Jennifer Guanzon Lopez and Cherrypink Alejandro Gonzales crooned songs mellifluously touched the hearts of the wards.

The CIK also prepared various parlour games that were participated in by the wards while selected wards also presented some numbers during the programme. Some sang with the Selda 5C2 Band.

Most of the wards became tearyeyed when CIK members serenaded them with Christmas songs. The event hosted by Cherrypink Alejandro Gonzales was capped with the sumptuous dinner buffet amid the live music played by the Selda 5C2 Band. The wards thanked the CIK for organising the event that brought smiles to

that their faces as they expressed hope that they can go home to their families this Christmas. “It’s heartwarming to know that there are kind people who care about us and who are here to make us happy,” stated Joanna, one of the wards at the FWRC.

“We hope that in our own small way, we’re able to make them happy and boost their morale especially during this coming Christmas season. The Club Ilonggo in Kuwait would also want to thank everyone for supporting the group’s cause and we hope to come up with more sociocivic activities in the year to come,” stated Diong.
