Kuwait sponsors medical camp in Palestine: AlFalah Charitable Organization in Palestine recently organized a free medical camp sponsored by the State of Kuwait for distributing milk for children and medicine to the Palestinians who were affected by the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Head of Al-Falah Charitable Organization Dr Ramadan Tanburah said more than 1,000 patients were treated and given free medical care, adding that more than 100 tinned milk for breastfeeding babies were distributed under the supervision of experts from Abdullah Al-Mutawa Medical Center, which is affiliated to Al-Falah Charitable Organization. Construction flaws uncovered: A number of construction flaws have been uncovered in the multi-level car parking area in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, reports AlWatan Arabic daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed rainwater seeped into all levels of the parking area when the country witnessed heavy downpour recently. Sources pointed out this is a clear indication that the department tasked to monitor government buildings did not check the parking area before the hand-over, in addition to its failure to closely monitor the work of the contractor who implemented the project. Down’s Syndrome inaugurates Down2Up Project : Kuwait Society for Down’s Syndrome recently organized an event under the patronage of Honorary Chairperson of the Handicap Club Al-Sheikha Sheikha Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah to inaugurate the Down2Up Project, which will support the cause of children affected Down’s Syndrome, reports AlWatan Arabic daily quoting an informed source.
He said the project involves male and female youths led by Nasser Yousef Al-Rushaed, who have taken it upon themselves to initiate a project that could serve children affected by the illness and discover outstanding ones among them.
During the event, Chairperson of Kuwait Down’s Syndrome Society Dr Sadeqah Al-Awadhi applauded the activities and future plans of the society. Expedite action on student grants hike: Hayf Bedah Al-Hajraf, the Head of Independent National Forum, which is a Kuwaiti students union in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, urged the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf to expedite action on incrementing student allowances, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Hayf Al-Hajraf pointed out that the executive members of the students union presented their demands during a discussion with the minister, who in return issued directives to the ministry to form a committee for this purpose, which would directly report to him.
He indicated that when the students followed up with the ministry on the procedures, the concerned officials said the ministry was still working on the issue and would thereafter forward it to the Council of Ministers for approval.
