Course opened: Deputy Director General for Firefighting Affairs and Human Resources at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) Brigadier Khaled AlMekrad recently inaugurated the Second Fire Prevention Course for GCC Firefighters and Civil Defense at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
In a press statement Sunday, the KFSD revealed those who attended the inauguration ceremony included acting Director of the Inspection and Followup Department Colonel Khaled Al-Ajmi, Public Relations and Media Department Director Colonel Khalil Al-Amir and several other officials.
Speaking at the event, Al-Mekrad stressed the importance of the fire prevention course as it gives the GCC countries a chance to exchange expertise on firefighting and keep them updated on the latest technologies that the KFSD uses in protecting buildings from fire. He disclosed the two-week course includes detailed explanations on fire prevention; condition of buildings in terms of the technical, architectural, mechanical and electrical aspects; and fire prevention inspection procedures. Cooperation eyed: Director General of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) Lieutenant General Yousuf Abdullah AlAnsari on Sunday received in his office 6,095 citations issued: The General Traffic Department (GTD) conducted a series of surprise inspection campaigns throughout the country over the weekend, leading to the issuance of 6,095 traffic citations and impounding of 345 vehicles and 37 motorbikes.
In a press statement, the department revealed the inspectors issued 1,016 citations and impounded 10 vehicles in the Capital Governorate; 1,152 citations and 37 vehicles in Farwaniya; 1,433 citations and 97 vehicles in Hawally; 972 citations and five vehicles in Ahmadi; 160 citations and 15 vehicles in Mubarak Al-Kabeer; and 331 citations in Jahra.
