Mudhi to head university:

The appointmen­t of Dr Mudhi Humoud as Regional Director of the Open Arab University in place of Dr Mousa Moheson is imminent as the former is currently acting as regional director of the university, reports Al-Shahid daily.

Sources said Al-Humoud is familiar with activities of the university with her many years of service in academic and administra­tive affairs, indicating she’s the best candidate for the job.

Govt to withdraw ‘cash’:

The government intends to withdraw a fraction of its deposits at the local banks to finance its developmen­t projects, reports AlShahid daily quoting reliable sources as saying.

The same sources noted government four years ago deposited multimilli­ons at the local banks to sustain the banking sector through the global economic turmoil, and as a result, the sector was immune to the global crisis.

Sources are looking forward to crisis erupting between the government and some banks based on the action, given that the funds would shield the banks from potential shakeups in future.
