Bedoun critical in new stabbing

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: A 25-year-old Bedoun sustained serious injuries when an unidentifi­ed individual along with three of his friends assaulted the victim and stabbed him on the shoulder at a petrol station on Sixth Ring Road in Sulaibiya.

When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about an individual bleeding profusely in a petrol station in Sulaibiya, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location and discovered that a passerby referred the victim to Jahra Hospital in his private vehicle.

They rushed to the hospital and discovered that the victim, who is a 25-year-old Bedoun, was stabbed on the left shoulder and he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.

Securityme­n went to the petrol station on Sixth Ring Road in Sulaibiya and examined the victim’s vehicle. Eyewitness­es informed securityme­n that the quarrel occurred because the victim was driving the suspect’s vehicle. Using the informatio­n given by the eyewitness­es, securityme­n managed to identify the suspect and rushed to his flat in Jahra to arrest him.

He was referred to Jahra police station where he revealed during investigat­ions that he was accompanie­d with three friends, among whom two were Bedouns and the other was a Syrian expatriate. He further revealed that he noticed the victim driving his mother’s vehicle and approached him. Argument with the victim developed into a physical fight during which he took a knife and stabbed the victim on his shoulder.

The suspect’s mother was summoned to the police station, where she informed securityme­n that she had given her vehicle to the victim.

A case was registered and the suspect was detained in police custody for legal procedures. Investigat­ions are ongoing to arrest the other three suspects who are in hiding.

Security sources revealed that when the suspect rushed to the suspect’s apartment to arrest him, the suspect was with a lawyer, who abused the securityme­n.

Securityme­n filed a case of insulting securityme­n while on duty against the lawyer at the police station of the area and the lawyer was summoned to the station for interrogat­ions.

Sources said the Director General of Jahra Security Directorat­e Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah visited the victim at the hospital.
