Amir’s support for youth highly valued
‘Real fortune of Kuwait’
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25, (KUNA): Academicians have highly valued HH the Amir’s “fatherly sponsorship” of the Kuwaiti youth noting his special attention to the young generation is also crucial for the future of the country.
Interviewed by KUNA, these personalities noted the State keenness on employing rich potentials of the youth, in line with guidelines of HH Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, famous for his historic saying, “The real fortune of the Kuwait lies in its natives.
“It is a wealth that cannot be seen equal to any other fortune, for they are the basis of the country’s future and aspiration. With the youth muscles, accomplishments can be made.” Abdul Aziz Al-Zeben, Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, said in this respect, “We have always known His Highness as the vanguard of initiatives concerning any activity that may back up the young generation and improve their status.
“Kuwait will take strides forward due to the wise policy, in-depth thinking and future outlook of His Highness.” The State approach is primarily aimed at devoting special care for graduates of universities and applied sciences colleges, Al-Zeben said in the remarks to the national news agency, noting the government keenness on employing the young citizens in ministries, State institutions and private companies.

The public and private sectors “should shoulder the national responsibility with regard of sponsoring the natives of Kuwait, in activation of His Highness’ desire in this respect,” he said.
Fawzi Al-Majdali, Secretary General of the Work Force and Labor Restructuring Program, expressed appreciation for His Highness’ devotion of attention to the youth and his efforts to secure jobs for them, noting that the recently-endorsed security against unemployment law “constituted a clear proof of the actual approach to back up the youth and realize their aspirations.” He also hailed a decision by the commission with regard to setting proportion of the national employees in the private sector.
Moreover, the holding of exhibitions and seminars help those seeking to find jobs, he said, re-affirming the government’s sincere desire to help the young citizens to get employment.
Meanwhile, Dr Ibrahim Hajiah, a researcher at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, noted HH the Amir’s belief that the youth constitute the foundation for sustainable development.
Munawer Al-Rajhi, information professor at Kuwait University, said the state policy of caring for the young is also manifested with the establishment of many social and psychological guidance centers at the colleges and schools.
HH the Amir is keen on offering support for the young Kuwaitis’ activities, namely scientific and cultural activities, “for sake of graduating skilled media cadres.” The youth are the largest segment of the Kuwaiti society, and in view of the rapid technological development in the world, “we must seek to catch up with such progress through the development of the youth’ potentials, rapidly,” he opined further.
Madi Khamees, Secretary General of the Arab Media Forum, also lauded His Highness’ encouragement for the youth, particularly those active in the media and information realms.
For his part, Dr Yaacoub Al-Kanderi, sociology professor, said youth seminars, sponsored by HH the Amir, “reflected harmony of the society.
“Kuwait as a democratic country is witnessing political cultural activity by the youth, thus there is need to interact with this development on patriotic basis,” he said, also underscoring necessity to listen to the youth opinion.
