Govt rejects report on arms

Report rejected: The government of Kuwait does not supply arms to the Syrian opposition, but did not rule out the money donated to the needy Syrians might have indirectly contributed towards this end, but this is far from government responsibility, reports AlRai daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources were commenting on a report which has been published by the Economist magazine which said Kuwait provides the Syrian opposition with light arms.

The sources said the government of Kuwait cannot provide the Syrian opposition with any kinds of weapons which can be used by them to fight the Syrian regimen troops since Kuwait has been working tirelessly and is committed to alleviate the sufferings of the brotherly Syrian peoples in accordance with international laws and regulations and within the framework of humanitarian aid.

The sources termed ‘inaccurate information’ referring to what was published in the Economist since the magazine did not specify the name of the person or party which supplied weapons to the Syrian opposition.
