Amir congratula­tes on Nat’l Occasions

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah Monday congratula­ted the Kuwaiti people and expatriate­s on the 52nd National Day and 22nd Liberation Day, praying to Allah Almighty to bestow Kuwait with lasting security, stability, prosperity and love.

Sheikh Sabah, in an address to the nation on the occasion of the national days, called on the people in Kuwait to recall Allah’s blessing for the liberation of Kuwait from the seven-month Iraqi occupation in 1990-91.

This blessing, he added,

required the joining of hands to preserve the spirit of patriotism, and to push for the developmen­t and prosperity of the country.

Sheikh Sabah thanked citizens and expatriate­s for the feelings of joy and happiness they have shown while celebratin­g the two national occasions.

His Highness the Amir commended the government and private media for their wide coverage to highlight the national occasions.

Sheikh Sabah recalled the men and women of Kuwait who sacrificed their souls in defending their country, as well as those who served their country, foremost the late Amir Sheikh Jaber AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the late Father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

Also: KUWAIT CITY: Google Inc, the biggest internet search engine, joined the celebratio­n of Kuwait’s national days by modifying its today’s Google Doodle to represent the Kuwaiti National Flag.

The special logo depicts the Liberation Tower, the second tallest structure in Kuwait that stands at 372 meters high.

Google Inc has been traditiona­lly making modificati­ons and/or humorous features, such as cartoon modificati­ons of their logo for use on holidays, birthdays of famous people, and major world events. These special logos, some designed by Dennis Hwang, have become known as Google Doodles.
