PM launches hot-air balloon festival
Info holds event to mark Kuwait’s National Days
Special to the Arab Times KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: The First Kuwait-International Hot-Air Balloon Festival was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Flag Square in the presence of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The Ministry of Information organized the event to celebrate 52 years of Independence of Kuwait, 22 years since Liberation of Kuwait and seven years of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s ascendancy to power.
The event kick-started with the flying of a hot-air balloon that displayed a portrait of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah followed by another displaying a phrase of appreciation. Several Kuwaiti citizens sang patriotic songs and recited poems during the festival.
The team of the first hot-air balloon dedicated to HH the Amir presented several techniques and latest equipments used for flying which they had designed to participate in an international tour aimed to convey HH the Amir’s message of tolerance and culture of communication among the nations of the world.
The head of this team Musa Malallah expressed gratitude towards the huge support they received from HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
He pointed out that Sheikh Jaber AlMubarak’s attendance and inauguration of First Kuwait-International HotAir Balloon Festival indicates his faith in the event and his keenness to adhere to the bid by HH the Amir to make Kuwait an international forum in various aspects and to transform it into a top financial and tourism hub of the region.
