Woman ‘humiliated’: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth for tearing the hijab and clothes of an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a security source the woman is 32 years old and the incident happened when she was about to park her car in the parking lot of a commercial mall off the Sixth Ring Road.

The woman in her complaint to the police said the suspect is known to her. She befriended him because he showed a lot of interest in her but when she became aware of his motives she dumped him when he forced her to have fun with his friends.

She added, he kept on calling her and she refused to answer his calls. This infuriated him and he attacked her in the parking lot of the complex.

A passerby offered his oqal to the woman to cover her body and called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.

The arrest came after the woman provided police the details about the man and his car. 20,000 dirhams stolen: Police are looking for a burglar who broke into the vehicle of a Lebanese man and stole 20,000 UAE dirham, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Lebanese has filed a complaint with the Nugra Police Station. In his complaint the man said the car was parked in the parking lot of his company.

Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprin­ts to identify the culprit.

And, police are looking for an unidentifi­ed burglar who allegedly broke into the apartment of an Egyptian man in Hawalli and stole the jewelry of his wife worth KD 3,000, reports Al-Anba daily. ‘Cave-in’ repaired: Assistant Undersecre­tary for Road Maintenanc­e Sector at the Ministry of Public Works Engineer Fadhel Al-Ajmi said the ministry dealt with the sudden cave-in of the road on the King Fahd Highway towards Al-Nuwaiseeb immediatel­y after the incident was reported, reports a local Arabic daily.

The official added, with help and cooperatio­n from the concerned authoritie­s the road was secured to prevent injuries to motorists until the repairs were carried out.

He attributed the cave-in to the oil pipeline passing from under the road which led to the disintegra­tion of the soil. Two escape death: Two expatriate­s escaped death when their car went up in flames at an unidentifi­ed location, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to eyewitness reports the expatriate­s pulled over to the side of the road and jumped out of the car and in a matter of second the flames engulfed the entire car. The car was totally destroyed. Meanwhile, in another unrelated incident, an Asian man sustained serious injuries when his car overturned on the same motorway in the vicinity of the Adan Hospital.
