Small, medium enterprise­s fund ‘vital’: Small, medium enterprise­s fund will help Kuwaiti economy to grow, said Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah here Wednesday.

The Minister said in a press statement he would like to thank the parliament and cabinet on approving the KD one billion national fund for support of small and medium enterprise­s, affirming that such step would help encourage people to start their own business.

Sheikh Salman said that the state would always encourage youth to partake in business ventures to promote the developmen­t of local economy and help to create a buzzing job market. (KUNA) Energy drinks not good: Member of the Office of the Assistant Dean for Consulting and Training at the of Education in Kuwait University Suzan Al-Baloushi has warned against the consumptio­n of energy drinks which, she claimed, are not good for the body, reports Al-Kuwaitiya daily.

In a recent interview, Al-Baloushi explained it is not good for the people to always take energy drinks as this may lead to memory impairment and sexual dysfunctio­n in the long-term, since these drinks have harmful effects on the brain cells.

While talking about the benefits of Energy Therapy, AlBaloushi vehemently denied allegation­s that the treatment is linked to Buddhism. She said the philosophy of ablution is applied to this kind of therapy. Govt showing resilience: The government seems to be showing resilience in discussing the proposal of some lawmakers to increase rent allowance for citizens to KD250 and the housing loan to KD100,000 for both men and women, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed the proponents of the bill have been trying to reach a consensus with the executive authority through a series of meetings to work on the possible approval of the proposal. Sources said the two parties are keen on helping citizens, considerin­g the soaring prices of commoditie­s and rental fees. Mutairi praises workers: Undersecre­tary at the Ministry of Social Affairs AbdulMohse­n Al-Mutairi has said employees of the social welfare and prisons sector hold the utmost priority of work, and he will endeavor to fulfill their needs, reports Al-Anba daily.

At the sidelines of his visit to the premises of Social Welfare complex in Sulaibiya, Al-Mutairi said all proposals will be tabled for discussion to improve services at the sector. He added the issue of paying allowance to deserving employees will be discussed next week, indicating allowance for shifts will be paid soon.
