Two GCC nationals killed, many injured in accidents

Mother burnt in tent fire also dies

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 27: Two GCC nationals died and several other individual­s were injured in traffic accidents recorded in the last 48 hours.

The two died after their vehicle collided with another vehicle and toppled on Jahra Motorway, while two individual­s in the other car sustained various degrees of injuries. The injured people were referred to Jahra Hospital by paramedics who arrived at the scene after the Operations Room had been notified about the accident. The remains of the expatriate­s were deposited to Forensics by Criminal Evidences Men.

In another incident, three Kuwaitis were injured in different places of their bodies after crashing into another vehicle on Mitlaa Expressway. Acting on informatio­n, paramedics rushed to the scene and carried the injured citizens to Jahra Hospital for medical attention.

A20-year old Kuwaiti citizen suffered a fracture in his right knee when his vehicle turned turtle in Jelaia. Medical Emergency Men helped the injured youth to Adan Hospital.

And, two Kuwaitis and a GCC national were injured when their vehicles collided on Fahaheel Expressway. They were sent to Adan Hospital by paramedics. Mother dies: The mother of the two girls, who died two days ago in a campfire in Mutla’a, succumbed to severe burns in the Intensive Care Unit of Jahra Hospital.

According to sources, the victim had sustained the burns when she was trapped inside the tent.

They added that the number of victims of the campfire has now reached three individual­s. Teen stabbed: A 19-year old Kuwaiti citizen was stabbed on his back during a quarrel in Arabian Gulf Street recently.

According to security sources, a quarrel broke out among a group of youths on Arabian Gulf Street during which one of the youths stabbed another with a knife on the back and ran away.

Securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location and referred the injured victim to Amiri Hospital.

A case was registered and investigat­ions are ongoing to arrest the suspects. Man caught drunk: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested recently in Salmiya for consumptio­n of alcohol and involvemen­t in a financial fraud case.

Reportedly, while Hawally securityme­n were patrolling Salmiya, they noticed an individual driving his vehicle in an unsteady manner. They stopped him and checked his details to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen who was wanted by law for a financial fraud case. They also detected the smell of alcohol from him.

He was arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action against him.

Absconder held: A Kuwaiti citizen, who was wanted by law for a number of cases, was arrested recently in Nugra.

According to security sources, while securityme­n were patrolling Nugra, they stopped the citizen for checking. When they discovered that he was wanted by law for a number of cases, they tried to arrest him. However, he sped away in his vehicle and almost knocked down the two police officers.

They chased him and managed to arrest him. He was referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action against him.
