KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Affairs at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Jamal Al-Dousari revealed that the division has been considering allowing the transfer of domestic visa in the private sector within the next few months, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Dousari declared that the department has been carrying out comprehensive review in collaboration with the concerned authorities, indicating that the Ministry of Interior is one of the authorities that should study the needs of the labor market and the expatriate workers in all sectors.

He stressed that he takes efforts to ensure the private sector benefits from expatriate workers currently in the country, which will serve as a better alternative than recruiting new employees from abroad.

He revealed that the ministry will approve such domestic visa transfer within the next three months, pointing out that the procedures will follow regulations previously laid down by the ministry.

Meanwhile, he said the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Thikra Al-Rashidi and Undersecretary AbdulMohsen Al-Mutairi visited Hawally Labor Department after the National Days festivities to inspect the situation there.

He clarified that the employees were in their duty posts, adding, “The officials will continue to carry out similar impromptu inspections to ascertain the situations in various labor offices, tackle problems and follow up their activities.”
