KFSD to organize 11th Firefighting Day from March 7-9 at Souk Sharq
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: The Public Relations and Coordination Unit at the Medical Emergency Department successfully implemented its contingency plan for the national holidays from Feb24-26, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting Unit Head Waleed AlOthman.
Al-Othman disclosed 12 centers were established throughout the country to ensure immediate and appropriate response to emergency situations. He said the department dealt with a total of 454 cases during the holidays through the coordinated efforts of 10 clinics, 35 ambulances and 101 paramedics in various locations.
Praising the efforts of the employees in the unit and the entire department, Al-Othman asserted they all worked hard during the holidays to give the best services to the people.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) will organize the 11th Firefighting Day from March 7-9 in Souk Sharq Mall under the auspices of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In a recent press statement, the directorate revealed many activities have been lined up for the event to raise public awareness on the dangers of fire, ways to deal with fire incidents and prevention methods. Many institutions like the Ministry of Defense, National Guard, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), different sectors affiliated to the directorate and others are expected to attend the event.
Meanwhile, sources confirmed the directorate’s plan to carry out a series of intensive campaigns in camping sites to ensure strict compliance with the safety and security regulations. Sources warned strict measures will be taken against those proven to have violated the regulations.
