Bahrain minister receives envoy: Bahraini Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Thursday received Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Ezam Mubarak Al-Sabah. During the meeting, Sheikh Rashid expressed optimism over the national dialogue in the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirming that the situation in the kingdom is stable and secure.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Ezam said Kuwait fully supports the idea of holding the dialogue to attain peace. He also praised the strong ties between the two countries, particular­ly their joint efforts in all fields. NA to vote on amended draft bill: The National Assembly will soon vote on the amended draft bill on the naturaliza­tion of 4,000 Bedouns, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.

Stating the bill was approved in its first reading, sources confirmed the executive and legislativ­e authoritie­s have agreed, in principle, to pass the bill but the government proposed reducing the number of citizenshi­p grantees from 4,000 to 3,000. KAC board chief to resign May 28: Board Chairman and Managing Director of Kuwait Airways Corporatio­n (KAC) Sami Al-Nisf will resign from the managing director post on May 28 in accordance with the amended Commercial Companies Law, reports Al-Watan daily quoting sources.

Meanwhile, sources revealed Minister of Communicat­ions and Head of the Higher Council for Civil Aviation Salem AlUtheina is now inviting nominees to the deputy board chairman post in place of Mutlaq Al-Sanei who had resigned earlier. Sources said the nominees will be announced in March to pave the way for the selection of Al-Sanei’s replacemen­t. Sources added Ahmed Al-Kreebani remains as board member and executive officer of the corporatio­n.
