Kuwaiti citizen, GCC national detained in drug trafficking
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: A Kuwaiti citizen and a GCC national were arrested recently for possession of drugs and an unlicensed weapon.
According to sources, when the Directorate General for Drug Control received information that a GCC national was involved in drug trafficking, a team was formed for investigations.
After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, they arrested the suspect in a camp even though he tried to resist arrest. They checked him to find huge quantity of hashish and a large sum of money.
During interrogations, the suspect informed securitymen that a Kuwaiti citizen supplied the drugs. Using the information given by the suspect, securitymen managed to arrest the Kuwaiti citizen. From his apartment, they found 11 fingers of hashish, a bag of narcotic pills, a weighing scale for drugs, two pistols and ammunition.
He confessed during interrogations that the items belonged to him.
The two suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested recently as he was wanted by law and had attacked two police officers while trying to resist arrest.
Reportedly, while securitymen were patrolling Capital Governorate, they stopped a Japanese-made vehicle for checking. They discovered that the driver is a Kuwaiti citizen who was wanted by law. When securitymen were in the process of arresting him, he hit one of the officers and tore the shirt of the other after which he ran away.
The officers immediately requested for backup and eventually managed to arrest the suspect.
He was referred to the police station of the area where a case was registered against him.
