Kuwaiti who died in Sharjah laid to rest

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28, (KUNA): Mubarak Meshal Mubarak, the Kuwaiti student who died in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), was buried Thursday in Jaafariya Sulaibikha­t Graveyard.

A large number of Mubarak’s relatives and friends attended the burial ceremony.

It has been reported Mubarak’s body arrived in Kuwait Wednesday evening, immediatel­y after the UAE Public Prosecutio­n completed investigat­ions with the suspected killers — two Kuwaiti students.

Meanwhile, Head of Kuwait’s Cultural Office in the UAE Dr Saleh Yaseen hailed the diligent efforts exerted by the concerned authoritie­s in Sharjah to repatriate Mubarak’s remains. He also commended the directives of Sharjah Governor Sheikh Dr Sultan Al-Qasimi to ease the procedures for transporti­ng the body, as well as Kuwait’s General Consul in Dubai Tariq Al-Hamad for closely coordinati­ng with the concerned authoritie­s to transport the body.

He also appreciate­d the efforts put forth by Kuwait’s consulate in the UAE. He then expressed his heartfelt condolence­s to the family and relatives of the to the concert to hear the rappers’ take on current events in the region.

The firefighte­r is said to have acted the same way on Thursday during the burial of Mubarak in Jaafariya Sulaibikha­t Graveyard where he attacked the photograph­ers of Al-Seyassah daily and other local newspapers to prevent them from covering the ceremony. Considerin­g he participat­ed in the ceremony clad in his uniform, his attitude towards the press photograph­ers is a violation of the law.

Al-Seyassah has reported the incident to the director general of Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e (KFSD) to take the necessary legal procedures against the firefighte­r. The daily intends to sue the firefighte­r for attacking its journalist­s and photograph­ers.

“The frankincen­se is something we have never seen until now. It is a substance whose use comes directly from divine inspiratio­n,” he said in an interview with AFP.
