Kuwait’s embassy in Brazil celebrates National Days
There is sincere effort on both sides to further interaction, cooperation: envoy
BRASILIA, March 3, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Embassy in Brasilia marked the 52nd independence and 22nd liberation anniversaries in a grand ceremony hosted by Ambassador Yusuf Abdelsamad, with an impressive guest list.
The ambassador expressed his congratulations to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince and the Kuwaiti people on this occasion, while expressing thanks to the Brazilian government and people for their hospitality and cooperation with the Kuwaiti diplomats on all issues.
The ambassador sought this occasion to stress there is sincere effort on both sides to further interaction and cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the fields of economy and trade.
On the Brazilian side and among the many notable guests, Foreign Undersecretary-General for the Middle East and Africa Paulo Cordeiro relayed greetings and best wishes of President Dilma Rousseff to the Kuwaiti leadership and people on this national occasion. He stressed his country is keen on bolstering relations on a basis of mutual respect and noted, “we are, indeed, working on this with Ambassador Abdelsamad.” Leading the guests at the celebration were senior representatives of the Brazilian government, Senators and MPs, heads of accredited diplomatic missions, senior state officials, and prominent cultural and media personalities.
As part of this celebration, the embassy organized different pavilions shedding light on aspects of Kuwaiti heritage and advancement, including one for publications and pamphlets offering a snapshot of the country which were distributed among the guests along with mementos related to this national occasion.
