KUWAIT CITY, April 13: MP Safa Al-Hashim witnessed an incident recently in Rumaithiya, which in her opinion, proves the state of lawlessness in the country, reports AlSeyassah daily.

Al-Hashim posted a statement in her Twitter account in which she addressed the Minister of Interior by saying, “We will soon account you about the state of lawlessness in this country and we will tell you ‘GAME OVER’ in all languages”.

Al-Hashim explained that the securitymen came to seize an individual who was wanted by law, but one of his sons threatened the officer with a firearm and placed it on his head. The wanted suspect attacked the securitymen and went back into his house with his son. The patrol officers and detectives led by a colonel remained waiting for about three hours.

The Kuwaiti actor, Tariq Al-Ali, then intervened on behalf of the wanted suspect who is his father-inlaw. He and his partner requested the suspect and his son to surrender themselves and also requested the detectives not to use handcuffs.

Securitymen demanded for the firearm used by the son but Tariq AlAli used his influence and talked with the Assistant Director General of Civil Defense Department Brigadier Mazen Al-Jarrah and former undersecretary for state security affairs of Ministry of Interior Sheikh Athbi AlFahad. Following the latter’s intervention, the weapon was not confiscated.

Al-Hashim addressed the Interior Minister by saying, “How can you accept securitymen being insulted? Is Tariq Ali above the law?”

MP Dr Maasouma Al-Mubarak commented on the incident by saying, “I thought of Tariq Ali as an artist with good humor, but it seems he is not so and proven that he is above the law”, adding sarcastically that the actor thinks he is Rambo and above the law.

On the other hand, comedian actor Tariq Al-Ali defended himself by severely criticizing the current National Assembly and describing it as worse than the former one, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Ali said Al-Hashim’s testimony is based on nothing but ungrounded rumors and allegations, confirming that he intervened only to solve a problem. He stressed that if AlHashim has a problem with the Minister of Interior, she should solve it under the dome of the parliament.

He added that his father-in-law was scared and was unaware that the securitymen were trying to arrest him. Embassies receive threats online: Strict security measures have been implemented around two embassies in Da’iya after the embassies received online threats, reports AlSeyassah daily.
