GTD officers issue 7,510 citations, seize 496 vehicles

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Officers from General Traffic Department (GTD) issued 7,510 citations against various traffic violations, seized 496 vehicles and arrested four individuals during a series of impromptu campaigns that were launched across the country during the weekend.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, officers issued 1,413 citations and seized 81 vehicles in Capital Governorate while they issued 785 citations and seized 15 vehicles in Farwaniya Governorate.

In Hawally Governorate, officers issued 1,923 citations and seized 115 vehicles while in Ahmadi, 1,119 citations were registered and 11 vehicles were seized.

In Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, 85 citations were issued and ten vehicles were seized while in Jahra Governorate, 837 citations were registered and 78

vehicles were seized.

Officers from the General Operations Unit issued 1,057 citations, seized 186 vehicles and arrested four individuals while the officers at Kuwait International Airport issued 291 citations for various violations.

Also: CITY: Traffic officers seized the vehicle of a Kuwaiti actor from a commercial complex in Salmiya and issued a traffic citation against him, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a security source, the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received several calls from visitors of a commercial complex in Salmiya regarding an individual who parked his vehicle in such a manner that they were unable to move their vehicles.

Securitymen rushed to the location and used a winch to lift the car. The visitors severely criticized the actor when he appeared.
