Filipina flees rape bid: Police are looking for two unidentifi­ed persons for kidnapping a Filipino woman and attempting to rape her, reports AlShahed daily.

According to a complaint filed by the woman with a police station, the suspects after forcing her into their vehicle took her to a stable in Jahra, but she managed to escape and sought the help of a passerby who helped her to call the police.

According to police sources the owner of the stable is a bedoun and police have summoned his brother for interrogat­ion. 3 in prostituti­on: Police have arrested three Filipino women for practicing prostituti­on under the cover of offering massage service, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting security sources said police acting on informatio­n put the suspects under surveillan­ce and then raided their apartment in Salmiya upon a warrant issued by the Public Prosecutio­n.

The daily did not say if the police found any customers at the time of the arrest. Lured for sex: Police have taken into custody two young men for consuming drugs and luring a young Syrian woman to have sex with them, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

According to security sources the Syrian woman was with her father inside a café in a well-known commercial mall in Salmiya.

The two men who were sitting on a table in front of them handed the girl a piece of paper on which was written his telephone number with a request to call him.

The annoyed father beat the two KUWAIT CITY, April 14: In what is seen as a qualitativ­e leap for Kuwait’s traffic men in their efforts to put an end to carelessne­ss on the roads and violation of traffic laws and regulation­s, the General Traffic Department (GTD) plans to install speed cameras which will be directly connected to the control room to save time and effort, reports AlWatan Arabic daily.

The daily added 50 cameras will be installed on the shoulders of the Fifth and Sixth Ring Roads to spot those who disrupt traffic and endanger the lives of other traffic users.

A GTD source disclosed these cameras will be in operation within the next two weeks. The source said the cameras can capture the number plate of violators at a distance of 400 meters.

The source added such cameras have been in use since last year. They have been largely successful and until now 10,000 traffic citations have been issued based on violations recorded by the cameras.

The source added that GTD will soon receive 100 new cameras to catch speeding motorists.
