Strong delegation represents Kuwait
Arab labor confab kicks off in Algiers
ALGIERS, April 15, (KUNA): The State of Kuwait attaches great importance to the 40th session of the Arab labor conference, Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Thikra Al-Rashidi said here on Sunday.
Kuwait will be represented at the gathering by a strong senior-level delegation, she told KUNA on the eve of the event.
“The delegation includes leaders of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Kuwait Trade Union Federation (KTUF) and Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) as well as leading business people,” the minister said.
Al-Rashidi voiced hope that the gathering will lead to tangible results that could meet the aspirations of workers across the Arab world, affirming her ministry’s commitment to cooperation and experience sharing with the labor sectors of other Arab countries.
“The State of Kuwait is bound to bilateral partnerships and multi-lateral cooperation deals with the sisterly Arab countries including Algeria, the host country of the labor confer- ence,” she added.
Led by Al-Rashidi, the delegation includes KTUF Chairman Fayez Ali Al-Mutairi and KCCI Director General Rabah Abdulrahman AlRabah as well as a business delegation.
The conference, being held here between Jan 15 and 25, is organized by the Arab Labor Organization (ALO).
