Amir sponsors event: Ministry of Education (MoE) Acting Undersecretary Maryam Al-Wutaid expressed gratitude for His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah’s sponsorship of an award ceremony honoring outstanding teachers for the academic year 2012-13, due next Wednesday.
The ceremony will honor 331 male and female teachers, including 50 schools for their outstanding efforts and hard work in education and for the development of the education in the country, Al-Wutaid said in a statement.
The official added that patronage of His Highness the Amir was in recognition of the teachers’ efforts and would be a great moral boost for them.
“Teachers who are dedicated in their work contribute in leading their society toward the development of humanity and civilization,” Al-Wutaid added.
The Acting Undersecretary called on teachers to continue their work and exert efforts to help the youth thrive and defend their community amid the various challenges. (KUNA) Finance seminar: Adelegation of the National Assembly headed to Ankara on Monday to participate in an international seminar, themed “an international workshop on public finance administration,” addressing the issue of the state finance management from 16 to 19 April.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Budget and Final Accounts Committee Adnan Sayed Abdulsamad, who led the delegation, told KUNA these seminars give great benefits to experts in the field of management and finance.
He noted importance of sharing ideas and experiences with others from different countries, for auditing and transparency as well as fighting corruption.
Abdulsamad said the conferees would discuss several international plans on monitoring the state’s budget, which were applied and proven to be successful. (KUNA) Voluntary work review: Chairperson of the Kuwaiti Voluntary Work Center Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah elaborated in Riyadh Sunday evening on her center’s experiment and efforts for environmental protection, human and sustainable development in Kuwait.
Speaking at the 4th International-Gulf Forum and Exhibition on Environment and Sustainable Development, held under the aegis of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Sheikha Amthal expounded on three aspects; the red tide and fishperishing, the disruption of Mishref Area sewage recycling station in Kuwait and humanitarian work. She underscored the significance of voluntary work and societal participation in the resolution of environmental problems and issues. (KUNA)
