Officials from MoH plan protest against transfers

-

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: The officials of Ministry of Health intend to organise a sit-in to protest the decisions taken by the ministry for random transfers or demotions of its employees, reports Al-Rai daily.

The spokesperson of the protestors Saoud Mohammad AlMutairi said some employers tend to transfer or demote their employees with whom they have disagreements, which he insisted is inappropriate and unfair.

He wondered if the ministry has become a private company, addressing the Minister of Health regarding why some qualified employees with more than ten years experience in their career are affected by such decisions and demoted to lower positions.

Meanwhile, the General Coordinator of the protestors Ali Mundakar indicated that the ministry undersecretary is responsible for such mess that negatively affects the qualified employees, stressing that such decisions indicate the increase of corruption and injustice against qualified employees in the ministry.

Earlier, several doctors from Amiri Hospital held a sit-in in front of the hospital to protest against the decision issued by the investigation committee which was in favor of the Minister of Health Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah’s decision to transfer Dr Kefaya Abdulmalik, who was the head of the Intensive Care Unit, from Amiri Hospital to the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

Contrary to the expectations, the turnout of the sit-in was low compared to the first one that was held at the beginning of this month in which almost 400 doctors participated.
