Maid steals cash: A bedoun woman has filed a complaint with the Taima Police Station accusing her Ethiopian housemaid of stealing KD 10,800, reports Al-Rai daily.

During interrogat­ion the maid is said to have denied the accusation­s.

Meanwhile, police are looking for two unidentifi­ed Pakistanis for ‘stealing’ 2 new cars from a car rental office, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to the company representa­tive, the suspects hired the cars from the company and when they failed to return them or pay the rent charges, the company tried to get in touch with them and found their cell phones closed. Police hunt gunman: Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed armed man for breaking into the home of a Kuwaiti family in the suburb of Abdullah Al-Mubarak and threatenin­g to shoot members of the family, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, the suspect escaped on foot before the arrival of police. Sponsor robbed: Police are looking for an Asian maid for stealing KD 1,200 from the safe in her sponsor’s home, reports AlWatan Arabic daily.

The sponsor has filed a complaint with the Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station.

In his complaint the sponsor said the maid stole the money and escaped from the house while the family was visiting friends. ‘No locust swarms’: Director of Public Relations at the Public Authority for Agricultur­al Affairs and Fish Resources, Shaker Mahmoud has denied informatio­n published on social networking websites about swarms of locusts being sighted in Salmi and Wafra, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Worker injured: Acting on informatio­n firemen rushed to the new under constructi­on Central Bank of Kuwait in Sharq and put out fire, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to eyewitness some floors of the building caught fire and quick response from firemen prevented the fire from spreading.

One worker who was injured has been admitted to a hospital. Firemen are investigat­ing the cause of fire.
