Alghanim Industries conducts seminar at AUM
Students learn about career opportunities, internship programs
KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Alghanim Industries was recently invited by Tawteen-Career Development & Recruitment Center at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), to conduct an educational seminar for its students. The seminar, which took place at AUM on Sunday, 20 April, was attended by faculty members and over 200 students majoring in business and engineering.
Ahmad Hammoud, Vice President — Engineered Products & Supply Chain Management,the event’s main speaker, provided insights and advice to the students based on almost 25 years of management experience in the fields of engineering, construction and electro-mechanical projects. Hammoud spoke about AIghanim Industries’ diverse business sectors andbroad geographic reach, particularly focusing on the Yusuf A. Alghanim & Sons Engineering Group and its structures, products and promising career paths for fresh engineering graduates.
Rose Zergani, Manager — Talent Acquisition,was also present at the event,introducing Alghanim Industries’recently-launched Summer and Professionalinternship programs. These programs offer course credit and on-the-job training to university students of all levels.The seminar was followed by a question and answer session, providing students the opportunity to ask questions about the company’s career opportunities and internship programs.
Speaking about the seminar, Hammoud said: “This was an excellent opportunity to showcase the incredible reach of Alghanim Industries and talk with highly-motivated students about the career opportunities that exist for them within our company.
I was very pleased to be able to participate in this AUM seminar and was impressed by the students and their questions.”
In addition to conducting the seminar, Hammoud met with Professor Ahmed Elsafty, the Dean of the Engineering School, to discuss the school’s industrial and electrical engineering curriculum.
As an emerging university in Kuwait, AUM is affiliated with Purdue University — one of the leading universities in the United States. AUM offers different fields of study in business administration and engineering, with plans to expand into other fields in the coming years.
The educational seminar was a great opportunity for Alghanim Industries to support an educational initiative in the country, while alsoestablishing a strong relationship with AUM.The company looks forward to participating insimilar events in the near future, both with AUM and other local universities.
