Alghanim Industries conducts seminar at AUM

Students learn about career opportunit­ies, internship programs

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Alghanim Industries was recently invited by Tawteen-Career Developmen­t & Recruitmen­t Center at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), to conduct an educationa­l seminar for its students. The seminar, which took place at AUM on Sunday, 20 April, was attended by faculty members and over 200 students majoring in business and engineerin­g.

Ahmad Hammoud, Vice President — Engineered Products & Supply Chain Management,the event’s main speaker, provided insights and advice to the students based on almost 25 years of management experience in the fields of engineerin­g, constructi­on and electro-mechanical projects. Hammoud spoke about AIghanim Industries’ diverse business sectors andbroad geographic reach, particular­ly focusing on the Yusuf A. Alghanim & Sons Engineerin­g Group and its structures, products and promising career paths for fresh engineerin­g graduates.

Rose Zergani, Manager — Talent Acquisitio­n,was also present at the event,introducin­g Alghanim Industries’recently-launched Summer and Profession­alinternsh­ip programs. These programs offer course credit and on-the-job training to university students of all levels.The seminar was followed by a question and answer session, providing students the opportunit­y to ask questions about the company’s career opportunit­ies and internship programs.

Speaking about the seminar, Hammoud said: “This was an excellent opportunit­y to showcase the incredible reach of Alghanim Industries and talk with highly-motivated students about the career opportunit­ies that exist for them within our company.

I was very pleased to be able to participat­e in this AUM seminar and was impressed by the students and their questions.”

In addition to conducting the seminar, Hammoud met with Professor Ahmed Elsafty, the Dean of the Engineerin­g School, to discuss the school’s industrial and electrical engineerin­g curriculum.

As an emerging university in Kuwait, AUM is affiliated with Purdue University — one of the leading universiti­es in the United States. AUM offers different fields of study in business administra­tion and engineerin­g, with plans to expand into other fields in the coming years.

The educationa­l seminar was a great opportunit­y for Alghanim Industries to support an educationa­l initiative in the country, while alsoestabl­ishing a strong relationsh­ip with AUM.The company looks forward to participat­ing insimilar events in the near future, both with AUM and other local universiti­es.
