WASHINGTON, Aug 26, (RTRS): Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather was suspended two regular-season games without pay for his sixth violation of the NFL’s policy on player safety.

The New York Jets suspended cornerback Dimitri Patterson indefinitely after he failed to show up for Friday’s preseason game against the New York Giants.

Jets rookie wide receiver Jalen Saunders had a seizure while driving to the team’s practice facility on Aug 15, coach Rex Ryan said.

Saunders, a fourth-round draft pick, has been cleared to play Thursday’s exhibition finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and other starters will play 15 to 18 snaps in Thursday night’s preseason finale against New England, coach Tom Coughlin said.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to start and play the bulk of the Patriots’ preseason finale.

So far this preseason, the second-round rookie has completed 24 of his 37 throws for 334 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions for a 129.8 passer rating.

The Patriots released veteran linebacker James Anderson, defensive linemen Tommy Kelly and Will Smith, and rookie tight end Justin Jones.

Richie Incognito was scheduled for a workout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fox Sports Jay Glazer reported Incognito could sign immediately if all goes well Monday.

Incognito is out of work after being the central villain named in the Jonathan Martin hazing incident that overshadowed the Miami Dolphins last season.

The Bucs waived linebacker Damaso Munoz. He signed with the Bucs in February after spending the past three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

The Minnesota Vikings made a series of roster moves, releasing 13 players, waiving one and activating one from the physically unable to perform list.
