‘DAESH threat to Kuwait real’

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The threat of DAESH affecting Kuwait is real as per statements made by State Security officers and the investigat­ions carried out by the Public Prosecutio­n, due to which the country is in dire need of stringent laws to collect unlicensed weapons as soon as possible, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Earlier, the Criminal Court had adjourned to May 7, 2014 the case 8/2014 titled ‘DAESH movement in Kuwait’ filed against eight individual­s.

The Public Prosecutio­n affirmed that the convention of the suspects is the scariest aspect in this regard, revealing that their plan is to bring down the government, attack the Amir and extend their activities to neighborin­g countries where they intend to attack the opposers.

The officers cautioned about the adverse effects of collecting donations which can become a serious problem if it is not monitored.

They explained that the members of the movement were planning to use Kuwait as their launchpad for their activities against other countries within the Arabian Gulf region. Investigat­ions revealed that DAESH in Kuwait are on the same page with other terrorist groups and are planning to make Kuwait a battlefiel­d.

Investigat­ions also revealed that the fourth suspect (M.) was collecting funds to support the movement through the abovementi­oned campaign which was establishe­d along with the second, seventh and eighth suspects. The fifth suspect affirmed that the basis for establishi­ng the campaign in Kuwait was to enable them to collect donations inside and outside the country for buying weapons for DAESH. route. A case was registered and investigat­ions are underway to establish the actual circumstan­ces leading to the tragic accident. Car on fire: Two cars collided on the Fifth Ring Road and one of them caught fire after the collision.

The source said in the event such manipulati­on is discovered, the Manpower Authority will close the company file under chapter 99 for 3 months followed and under chapter 71 will refer the company to the Public Prosecutio­n.
