KAC plane in near miss over Pakistan airspace

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: A Kuwait Airways aircraft flying over Pakistan airspace was in a near miss collision with Malaysian Airlines plane, reports the Saudi Press Agency.

The Kuwaiti plane was on its way to Islamabad and the Malaysian Airlines aircraft was en route to London according to officials of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority.

The incident occurred over the Zhob district of Baluchista­n in southweste­rn Pakistan due to weak air traffic control radar signals, the authority said.

Victim of car chase:

A Kuwaiti military man working for the Ministry of Defence has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the man was injured after his Jeep overturned in front of a military camp.

When someone called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior, police and paramedics rushed to the spot and found the injury was serious.

According to reliable sources, the military man was being chased by a police patrol because he was spotted driving recklessly.

The victim allegedly disobeyed police orders to pull over and head for the camp and in the process lost control of his vehicle and it overturned.

The same sources said the police patrol seeing the Jeep overturn, drove off. Police have not ruled out the man was under the influence of drugs. Baby abandoned: A baby was found inside a bag left behind a hotel in Salmiya. Security officers on duty in the area rushed to the location after hearing the baby cry. They took the baby to a nearby hospital. A case was registered and investigat­ions are underway to identify the parents in order to take the necessary legal action

against them. Iran sailors rescued: Six Iranian sailors were rescued from drowning when their boat, which contained sheep worth thousands of dinars, was on the verge of sinking in the Kuwaiti territoria­l waters, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about a sinking boat carrying sheep in the Kuwaiti territoria­l waters, Salmiya firefighte­rs, marine rescue officers and officers from Coast Guard rushed to the location and rescued the six Iranian sailors onboard the boat.
