Iran kills fighters: Iran’s official news agency is reporting that the country’s powerful Revolutionary Guard has broken up a militant group linked to a “foreign intelligence” agency and killed its members.

The report Monday by IRNA did not identify the terrorist group, nor give any casualty figures. The report said the Guard confiscated a large amount of weapons and communication equipment from the militant group. It said the raid happened in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan near the Pakistani border. The area has been scene of occasional clashes between Iranian forces and militants groups believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda.
