AFTER the success of the first edition, LA FEMIS, the French National Film School, will organize the Gulf Summer University in 2015, thanks to the active support of local sponsors (CINESCAPE in Kuwait, the Doha Film Institute in Qatar, Image Nation and Total in the UAE) and the French Embassies in the GCC region.

This training programme will run for 5 weeks, from Aug 7 to Sept 11, 2015, consisting in intensive classes 5 days a week, during which the trainees will thoroughly explore the filmmaking craft, will discover contemporary French cinema through the study of major French directors and will direct a 5 minute film based on an existing script.

All the theoretical and practical classes will be taught by professionals from the French film industry.

This programme is open to very motivated young filmmakers, native from the Gulf regions who wish to develop their practical and theoretical knowledge of filmmaking in Paris, the birthplace of cinema.

Description of the programme and application forms are available through the French Institute in Kuwait (www.institutfrancaiskoweit.com) and Cinescape 360∞— Cinema Helpdesk (www.kncc.com/lafemis2015.ph p).
