Qatar top beach volleyball
DOHA, April 6, (KUNA): Qatar volleyball team (A) won the gold medal after defeating Oman team (B) two sets to nothing Sunday, taking the first place in the 2nd GCC Beach Games, held in the Qatari capital.
The Qatari team beats its Omani counterpart 21-17 and 21-18 in their match that was held at Al-Gharafa Sports Club in conclusion of volleyball competitions.
Meanwhile, the Omani team (A) clinched to the bronze medal after defeating Qatari team (B) two rounds to nothing.
The winners of the first three places were crowned by GCC Beach Games’ Executive Director Khaled Al-Mohannadi, Khaled AlMawlawi, President of Qatar Volleyball Association, and Waleed Aman, head of the Games’ organizing committee.
The Games, to continue until April 9, gathered more than 300 athletes from the six GCC members (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE).
