Yemen... the start of Arab salvation

UNDER the cover of humanitarian crisis, Russia has moved forward in an attempt to persuade the United Nations Security Council to impose long truce or a daily truce in Yemen. The real objective is to give the Houthi rebels a chance to gasp some air and reorganize their lines after being torn apart, at first by the ‘Operation Decisive Storm’ and then the ongoing ‘Operation Hope Restoration’ with the assistance of national resistance forces which have been expanding to all corners of Yemen.

It is clear to everyone that the Russian approach to this issue is not innocent and has nothing to do with humanitarian grounds which they claim. The Russian approach is based on exchange of interests between Moscow and Tehran, especially at this sensitive stage of the final nuclear negotiation between Iran and the group of six countries; let alone the fact that the Mullah regime is trying to reduce the level of its failure in Yemen.

The regional countries, especially the GCC nations, have proven that this area is not subject to political maneuvering and it can never be the backyard of Iran as it is in Iraq; it cannot be a strategic base lying on the Mediterranean Sea like the case in Syria. In addition, the GCC countries will never allow Yemen to become a terrorist den as it is in Dhahiyat, Lebanon ... In short, Yemen has unique characteristics which reflect a completely different reality compared to each of the afflicted nations and areas.

This is in addition to the fact that since hundreds of years ago, the people of Yemen refused to be subdued by invaders or occupiers. They fiercely resisted groups and parties that rendered themselves the Trojan horse of expansionism. The people of Yemen have been aware of this reality since the start of the Houthi rebels’ encroachment. Therefore, the step of seeking assistance from the GCC

countries was followed by the formation of the military coalition whose main objective was to carry out air strikes to stop the masked invasion of Iran in Yemen. On the other hand, the Yemeni national resistance covered the ground as it happened in Aden, Shabwa, Taez, Sanaa and Sa’adah.

Since the start of the masked invasion of Iran, the tone of intimidation from several sides has intensified. These sides are known and their objectives are not a secret, whereas they warned that the conflict will transform Yemen into another Somalia. This warning is not based on concern for Yemen; instead it is an attempt to maintain the conspiracy course of expansionism, so that Iran does not lose a place to step on in the Arabian Peninsula where it has been very keen to build for the past 21 years.

They also tried to claim that the conflict is merely sectarian, just like what they did in Iran and Syria where the people were drenched in creedal zeal which deteriorated the sense of patriotism and national bond. They have forgotten that the people of Yemen have realized the truth; thus, these people declared national resistance against the hired gangs. These gangs would not have reached where they are now if it were not through their coalition with ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdallah Saleh, who continues to control a portion of the military which he used in order to seek vengeance for being removed from power. Saleh used the Houthi gangs to take revenge; thinking that by doing so, he will be a difficult to ignore card in the Yemeni politics such that he becomes untouchable.

Today, the curtains dropped before the final part of the Yemeni tragedy. The failure of Russia at the Security Council is actually the acceptance of Iran’s defeat, which is also clear in the statements made by some Iranian leaders who said that occupying another Arabian city is just a fire-breathing animal provoked by the ‘Decisive Storm’.

None of the GCC countries, which are led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and even their allies, will allow Yemen to become the backyard of Iran or have operational forces affiliated with Iran along Mandab Strait regardless of the conditions.

Starting from now and until the end of the Yemeni tragedy, which will be about holding the Houthi gangs and Ali Salah accountable for shedding the Yemeni blood, we will be seeing a lot of variations and this starts in Sanaa. Such action will not end until all the Arab cities are saved from Iran’s expansionism nightmare in order to close the darkest chapter of this world.
