NUKS-Canada meet themed UN’s Humanitarian ‘Leader’
Students problems will be discussed: Busairi
WASHINGTON, May 2, (KUNA): National Union of Kuwait Students-Canada said its annual conference would be themed “Humanitarian Ambassadors,” in recognition of UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as “Humanitarian Leader.” Naming the May 2 conference, due in the Canadian city of Montreal, would celebrate the UN recognition of HH the Amir as a “Humanitarian Leader” during a ceremony held at the UN last September, Khaled AlBusairi, Vice-President of NUKS-Canada, told KUNA Friday.
He underscored importance of proper representation of Kuwait abroad as well as conveying its humanitarian message to the world.
The two-day conference, said Al-Busairi, aimed at gathering around 350 Kuwaiti students in Canada under one roof to get acquainted with each other.
He said more than one-third of Kuwaiti students were studying medicine, and the number of students in general was increasing.
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa, and Kuwait Cultural Attache to Canada Dr Fahad Al-Nasser will be opening the new headquarters of NUKSCanada in the city of Ottawa on Monday, he said.
Al-Busairi said the conference would include a number of academic, sport and enteraintment activities, as well as a questionand-answer session with representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education related to problems facing students in Canada.
