Hoax call about ‘fire incident’ leads to rescue of three children
Agencies KUWAIT CITY, May 2: Securitymen from the Public Security Sector acted on the instructions of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali to track down criminals; thereby, arresting 7,774 expatriates who violated the Residency Law and involved in various crimes.
Disclosing the arrests happened in different areas within a week, security sources disclosed the arrested expatriates included local liquor traders, Asians caught in the act of gambling and others who committed immoral acts. The concerned officials have started taking the necessary procedures to deport these expatriates while the campaign against outlaws continues.
Meanwhile, a hoax call about fire inside an apartment unearthed a humanitarian catastrophe — two children 3 and 5 years old (brothers) — being taken care of by their 12year-old sister, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily said the five-year-old toddler is physically handicapped.
It has been reported the Operations Room of the Fire Services Directorate received a call about fire in the apartment and when the firemen responded to the call, they rushed to the location but no one answered the door.
The firemen then forced open the door and were shocked to find the toddlers taken care of by the elder sibling. When the firemen surprised the children the elder admitted to making the call.
She added she has been taking care of her brothers by begging for money and food. She said since they were locked inside the house, she went in and out of the house through a small window.
The girl told firemen she and her brothers were locked inside the apartment three months ago and that she does not know anything about their parents.
She added, she has not seen her parents for the past three months nor heard from them. She added, they were left without food and water.
The girl said her aunt visited them a week ago and scolded and beat them and left without leaving anything for them.
The sources said the three children have been handed over to the Department of Juvenile Welfare and the parents are charged with negligence.
A security source said two young children are in a very bad condition.
