Culled ‘Kurt Cobain’ album out in summer
LOS ANGELES, May 3, (RTRS): Smells like new music?
Brett Morgen, the director of the documentary “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,” told Bedford + Brewery that a new Cobain album is being culled from home recordings he found while making the film, and should be released as early as this summer.
“Will feel like you’re kind of hanging out with Kurt Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Washington, as he fiddles about. It’s going to really surprise people,” Morgen told the publication.
The director said he combed through 107 cassettes with 200 hours of “never-before-heard and rarely heard music.” He also clarified that it’s not a Nirvana album, but solely focused on the group’s late frontman.
