Int’l Red top Kings 4-2

KUWAIT CITY, May 3: In the fourth round of the Khalid Arshad Memorial played on Friday, Internatio­nal Red won comfortabl­y at Kuwait Hockey Kings with a 4-2 margin and Don Bosco brushed aside Kuwait Independen­ts 7-2 and in the final game KOC Greens got a walk over KOC Blues.

In first game of the day between Internatio­nal Red and Kuwait Hockey Kings, the Kings had a point to prove and both sides spoiled scoring opportunit­ies.

Towards the end of first half, Chris scored to take Reds leading one up before change of ends.

In the second half, Kings came all guns blazing with Shahbaz and Nadeem scoring in quick succession. However, Sam Pereira led the way to the recovery with scoring the equalizer, Chris adding another and Sam with another sealed the fate of the opponents.

Reds now have 7 points from 4 games.

The second game was a clash of the rivals between Don Bosco and Kuwait Independen­ts. The match promised to be highly competitiv­e and right so Don Bosco started in fashion with Eustace scoring in the first two minutes.

It was a one way traffic since then when Sean, Leo and Sherwin scoring in the first half. Harjinder scored the solitary goal for the men in gold and black during the first half.

In the second half, it was the same story. With Sherwin, Leo, Eustace, Bruno enjoying possession, KIH failed and struggled to keep up the pace.

The highlight of the game was the 5th goal from Leo, who outran the helpless KIH defence from the half line and was adjudged the Man of the Match with 2 goals and four assists. Eustace bagged a hat-trick, with Sean and Sherwin adding one each. Faisal scored one for the KIH to make it 72 final score.

KOC Green who got a walkover from KOC Blue has won all their four outings.
