News in Brief

-

The Jaafari Personal Status Court, presided by Justice Hamoud Al-Matrooq issued the verdict in favor of the plaintiff and gave him the custody of his daughter, says Al-Seyassah.

The court also turned down a request from the woman for alimony.

The lawyer for the plaintiff Zainab AlRamzi requested the court to hand over the custody of the daughter to her father according to the Jaafari doctrine saying the mother has no Al-Ramzi right to custody of her children if she marries another man and submitted to the court documents to support her statement. Identifying victim: The Kuwaiti authorities have received notification from the Saudi authorities that they have found the Kuwaiti driving licence valid up to April 2016, on one of the victims of stampede in Mina during the last Hajj pilgrimage, reports Al-Rai daily.

The victim is identified as Mohammad Abdul Rauf Mohammad Kaleem Al-Din of Bangladeshi.

The source added according to the Kuwaiti security authorities the holder of the licence was a resident of Kuwait and he left for good three years ago. The Saudi authorities are trying to identify the holder of the licence.

‘Just rumours’: The news that a Saudi man put a condition on his fiancÈe not to publish the contents of their marriage through a clause in the marriage contract has been the subject of discussion in the mass media until someone promoted rumors that a new decision had been issued to include such clause in the marriage contract, reports Al-Rai daily.

However, a marriage official Khaled alSaidi explained it is known that during authentication of the marriage contract the marriage official asks both the parties to the contract if any condition is to be added to the marriage contract and that every party has the right to do so.

Saidi added no new instructions have been issued by the concerned ministry about adding amendments to the marriage contract, and that what has been said about adding a mandatory requirement on the marriage contract requires the commitment of parties to the contract not to publish their life details.

However, what has been published by the mass media is just rumors. He said a formal marriage contract is based on the principles of Islamic law and approved by the Kuwaiti law originally derived from the Constitution.
