-

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group welcomed Mohamed bin Hamad Saqr Al Moawda, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates at the Al Habtoor head office.

They talked about the strength of the GCC member states and the escalating tensions in other parts of the region.

Al Habtoor said he received “exceptional Arab hospitality and kindness”. He was in the capital Manama for a one-day visit last month where he was awarded with the ‘HH Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al-Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work’ in recognition for his phil- anthropic endeavours.

Al Habtoor said, “The relaxed ambience took me back to the old days when everyone knew one another and lived according to the beliefs of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers.”

He added, “I could not help but marvel at the way modernity has been blended seamlessly with historic attraction. I look forward to my next visit there.”

Al Habtoor gave the Ambassador a signed copy of his best-selling autobiography, ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor — the Autobiography.’

His Highness the Amir was unequivocal in his speech highlighting Kuwait’s support of the endeavors of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen, said Abdulrahman Ba-Ashin, head of a strategic studies center in Saudi Arabia, in remarks to KUNA.

His Highness the Amir also underscored the firm underpinnings of the GCC while stressing for further continuation of cooperation among its members, said former Saudi Shura council member Mohammad Al Zulfa, in similar remarks to KUNA.

The speech by His Highness the Amir reflected not only issues of concern to Kuwait but also to the Gulf region as a whole, recognizing the momentous events the

region was undergoing, said Fehaim Al-Hamed, political editor for the Saudi newspaper Al-Okath.

He said Kuwait has shown in numerous instances its pivotal importance to the security and stability of the Gulf region.

Abdul-Aziz Al-Jabra, a Saudi media figure, considered in a statement to KUNA that the speech by His Highness the Amir was tantamount to a roadmap for GCC members to follow in strengthening their unity and cooperation fields.

He said the GCC carried a strong message to the world that it would remain steadfast to its principles based on shared history and values among its members.
