RIYADH, Nov 10, (KUNA): Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmad Al Khalifa has stated that Gulf countries are defending themselves and their interests against the Iranian interferences.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is doing its role in this regard, but it has become an Arab duty as Tehran has extended its interferences to other Arab countries, Sheikh Khaled told reporters following the ministerial preparatory meeting of the 4th Arab-South American Summit, on Tuesday.
He underlined that Bahrain and other GCC countries do not seek any harm to the Islamic Republic of Iran, but rather want good neighborliness if Tehran changed its current behavior.
The Arab countries are prioritizing dialogue in dealing with Iran, but they are ready to defend themselves if war is imposed on them, he said.
On the discussions with the South American foreign ministers, the Bahrain top diplomat admitted the existence of some differences in points of view, especially regarding the issues of the UAE islands which are occupied by Iran.
Arab countries have re-confirmed their stances towards the Iranian occupation of the UAE islands, he said.
